In the wake of the current uprisings and calls to actions many organizations are contemplating what it means for them to truly commit to supporting communities of color. While the world is shining a spotlight on those organizations for boldly condemning anti-Black violence and discrimination; attention is also being given to those organizations who have failed to speak on this current moment or have taken their time doing so. Despite the focus on corporate statements; activists and public intellectuals have been clear in making the point that organizations must not only talk the talk; they need to walk the walk.  This moment is calling for organizations to think beyond statements of support. It asks us to consider what’s next? How do we live out a commitment to not only our Black employees, customers, and vendors but how do we commit to the inclusion and success of all people of color? It asks us to turn the mirror towards ourselves and become aware of the sometimes harsh truths of how our organizations may be failing people from marginalized backgrounds. Now more than ever we are reminded that any lasting change must be rooted in a critical, intersectional, and structural analysis of the personal, political, and the collective.  Join India Pierce, co-founder of Moxie Consultancy Collective, for a discussion about what your organization should do now to cement its commitment to Black people and communities of color at large.
