Sarah Murtagh is an Assistant Director of Workforce Solutions within the Continuing Education Department at SCC.

She is a Kearney, Nebraska native who graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004, and Obtained a Master of Arts in Management degree from Doane University in 2010.

Sarah began her professional career with the Supreme Court and the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office, which sparked her passion and desire to help people. From there she went on to serve as the Employment Services Director for Goodwill Industries, where she developed and maintained programs for area employers and clients with barriers to employment. She also presented vocational and life skills classes and assisted with marketing and communications for the organization. She then went on to serve as the Human Resource and Public Relations Coordinator for the University of Nebraska Police Department. Here, she was responsible for recruiting and hiring along with building, designing, and maintaining departmental information via their website and social media platforms. She also helped develop and implement the department’s first ever Citizen’s Police Academy.  

Her volunteerism includes serving on the board for The Child Advocacy Center along with her previous volunteer roles with Leadership Lincoln, The HUB, Meadowlane Pool, Lincoln Public School’s Citizen’s Academy, Youth Actors Academy of Lincoln, The Community Playhouse, and serving on the Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee for the City of Lincoln.

In her spare time, Sarah likes to laugh with her friends, sing, volunteer, and practice yoga.  She lives with her husband, son, and two dogs in Lincoln.
